Weekly Prophet 1: Review of Harry Potter & the OotP

This week's Weekly Prophet is going to look at the hugely popular Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. It outsold the Bible in the first weekend in the few countries it was released in. It broke all Bestselling Records even before it was released. So, what did we learn from this incredible book? Here are a few of the key points:

The very first thing we learn is that about the identity of Arabella Figg. She is, as was thought, Harry's protection on Privet Drive. Although a Squib, she harbours wizards and witches who Apparate and Disapparate to and from Privet Drive. And about Mundungus Fletcher, he is a connection to the underworld of wizarding crime. A good connection to have for the Order.

We then learn about the Order of the Phoenix when some members come to collect Harry at Privet Drive and transport him to No. 12 Grimmauld Place. This was the Headquarters for the Order and Sirius Black's house. The purposes of the Order is to protect Harry and to protect the ultimate weapon Voldemort so wants: The Prophecy. They also follow Death-Eaters and work on recruiting new members. Some of the members are: Alastor Moody, Remus Lupin, Nymphadora Tonks, Kingsley Shacklebolt, Elphias Doge, Dedalus Diggle, Emmelrie Vance, Sturgis Podmore, Hestia Jones, Sirius Black, Severus Snape, Arthur Weasley, Molly Weasley, Bill Weasley, Charlie Weasley and Minerva McGonnagall. Albus Dumbledore is in charge of the Order.

Later on we learn about Sirius Black's relatives. He is related to:
Nymphadora Tonks, his cousin's daughter
Bellatrix Lestrange, his cousin
Narcissa Malfoy, his cousin
Molly Weasley, his cousin by marriage
Arthur Weasley, his second cousin once removed.

When Harry returns to Hogwarts we find our new DADA teacher: Professor Umbridge. She later becomes High Inquistor and the Headmistress, when Dumbledore leaves to save Harry from expulsion. She is a Ministry worker and was sent to intefere. She introduced quite a few Educational Decrees to give her and the Ministry a lot more power.

Then Harry establishes the DA, Dumbledore's Army. This is an association where Harry teaches some other students DADA as Professor Umbridge isn't any good. Here Harry has his first kiss with Cho Chang at Christmas underneath the mistletoe. They start going out but it doesn't work and Cho ends up with Michael Corner, Ginny's, then, ex-boyfriend.

Ron becomes Gryffindor Quidditch Keeper, but Harry and the Weasley twins are given a ban on Quidditch. Harry is replaced by Ginny. Fred and George then go on to leave Hogwarts altogether, They bought a premises: No.93 Diagon Alley. There they set up Weasley's Wizard Wheezes.

In the chapter Hagrid's Tale we meet Hagrid's half-brother: Grawp. Grawp is a sixteen foot tall giant from Europe. Hagrid keeps him in the Forbidden Forest. He asks Harry and Hermione to keep an eye on him incase he has to leave, which he does when Prof. Umbridge sacks him and tries to stun him with loads of other wizards. But, he escapes.

Well on in the book Harry, Hermione, Ron, Ginny, Neville and Luna Lovegood go to 'save' Sirius because Harry had a vision where Voldemort had captured Sirius and was holding him at The Dept. of Mysteries. When Harry arrives in the Department he finds a tiny glass ball with a label on it. It read:
                                         S.P.T. to A.P.W.D.
                                      Dark Lord
                                        and (?) Harry Potter
This was the weapon Voldemort so wanted. Harry picked it up and suddenly he and the rest were hurled into a huge battle where he and the others are trying to escape Death-Eaters, who want the Prophecy. Some members of the Order come to their aid. Sirius Black takes on Bellatrix Lestrange, in a deadly duel. Sadly, she killed him and he fell through the Arch of Death. Dumbledore then arrives and duels with Voldemort. Voldemort escapes by Disapparating with Lestrange.

In the Chapter: the Lost Prophecy we learn about the Prophecy. It was prophecised by Sybill Trelawney. It said:

The one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord  approaches... born to those who have thrice defied him, born as the seventh month dies... and the Dark Lord will mark him as his equal, but he will have powers the Dark Lord knows not... and either must die at the hand of the other for neither can live while the other survives... the one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord will be born as the seventh month dies...

So harry has to either murder Voldemort or be murdered by him. This is more or less where the plot of Book 5 ends and where the Second War Begins....
